OEM and Private Label Food: From Brief to Production Approval

Define an OEM or private label project before approving production. Separate an existing recipe with your packaging from product development, then connect samples, label review, packaging quantities and shipment checks to named owners and approved file versions.

Nong Zhifu Food supports OEM and private-label sourcing with production partners in China. Discuss the proposed biscuits, candy, chocolate, beverage or other food product to confirm actual development and packaging feasibility. Our role does not mean that every category is manufactured in our own facility.

Choose the development route

An existing product with buyer-specific packaging and a custom formulation project require different work. State the destination, channel, reference product, desired characteristics, pack format, quantity and intended launch timing. Identify which requirements are mandatory and which alternatives may be considered.

Use separate approval gates

Decision Record before moving forward
Feasibility Proposed product, manufacturing arrangement and open questions
Sample and specification Sample identity, formulation scope and agreed product version
Artwork and printed material Final file, language, pack dimensions and authorized print version
Production Approved references, quantity, packaging commitments and responsibilities
Shipment release Agreed checks, dates, documents and resolved discrepancies

Assign who provides product facts, who checks destination requirements and who authorizes each decision. Label support is coordination, not a promise of regulatory approval in every market. A sample approval is not automatically a final artwork or production approval.

Review the supplier evidence before printing or production

Match the specification, ingredient and allergen information, manufacturer details and artwork. Review the scope and validity of any supporting report or certificate. Give unresolved items an owner and due date.

If formulation, manufacturing arrangement, packaging or artwork changes, decide which approvals must be reopened. A reorder should identify the approved version rather than rely only on “same as last time.” These pre-production checks are distinct from the shipment paperwork in the customs document guide.

Confirm commercial commitments and checks

Review finished-product and printed-packaging MOQ commitments before accepting the initial quantity. Agree inspection and release criteria for the project. For broader role allocation, see the OEM and sourcing partner guide.

Nong Zhifu Food has 6+ years of OEM/private-label experience, including anonymized retail-channel cases involving Singapore and Malaysia. Past experience is background for discussion, not evidence that a new product has already gained buyer approval. Confirm each project's product, evidence and commercial scope separately.
